With the spread of the new COVID-19 variant. Countries without the resources to procure the vaccine are at a higher risk
Lynsey Chutel in collaboration with Marc Santosa wrote, “Rich countries are buying up coronavirus vaccines, leaving poorer regions vulnerable — and as potential breeding grounds for variants, like one found in South Africa, that could make vaccines less effective.”
South Africans are in constant fear of catching the new variant and there is need to practice the relevant measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 variant.
