Second Wave hits South Africa: Frontline Workers Leaves Cancelled; Level-3 Adjusted Lockdown Reinstated.

In a statement made by the Netcare’s Chief Executive Officer on Monday, 28 December 2020. “All frontline workers were called from leave and are planning on applying strict international guidelines on what medical services patients will receive in the coming weeks as South Africa’s Covid-19 second wave spreads across the country.”

Driven by a new Covid-19 variant harsher restrictions were implemented by the President of the South African Republic in. The reinstatement of an ‘adjusted’ level 3 lockdown protocol intends to reduce the spread of the virus by targeting super-spreader events.

Bans were initiated on beaches, dams, lakes, rivers, public parks, and public swimming pools in hotspot areas has also been implemented.

South Africa has a long list of new hotspots, in addition. The ‘adjusted’ Level 3 lockdown regulations will be reviewed on 15 January 2021
